Privacy Policy

Effective date: April 2026. This policy describes how data is collected, used, and stored in connection with this website and the Roko’s Basilisk Fundraiser project, operated by Opcraft, LLC (“we,” “us”).

What we collect

Visitor data: When you visit this site, our hosting provider (Cloudflare, Inc.) may collect standard web analytics data including your IP address, browser type, referring URL, and pages viewed. We also maintain an aggregate, anonymous page view counter. We do not use third-party analytics services or advertising trackers.

Contributor data: If you choose to contribute, you may optionally provide a name or pseudonym and a URL. This information is submitted voluntarily and is used solely to display your entry on the public contributor list. If you select “Anonymous,” no identifying information is displayed. You may also choose not to provide a name, in which case no contributor information is stored beyond the payment record.

Payment data: Payment processing is handled entirely by Stripe, Inc. We do not receive, store, or have access to your full credit card number. Stripe provides us with a transaction record including the amount, date, and any metadata you provided (name/pseudonym, URL, anonymity preference). Stripe’s handling of your payment data is governed by Stripe’s Privacy Policy.

Cookies and local storage

This site uses a small number of first-party cookies and localStorage entries for functional purposes only: remembering your cookie banner acknowledgement, storing your theme preference (light/dark/auto), and caching the visitor counter display value. We do not use tracking cookies, advertising cookies, or any third-party cookies.

How we use your data

Visitor analytics data is used solely to understand aggregate traffic patterns. Contributor names, pseudonyms, and URLs are displayed on the public contributor list as described above. Payment records are retained for accounting and legal compliance purposes. We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties, except as required by law or as described in this policy (i.e., payment processing via Stripe and hosting via Cloudflare).

The public contributor list

If you provide a name or pseudonym and do not select “Anonymous,” your entry will appear on the public contributor list. This list is intended to be permanent. If you wish to have your entry removed or changed to Anonymous, contact us at the address below and we will accommodate your request within a reasonable timeframe.

Data retention

Contributor list data is retained indefinitely, as permanence is a stated feature of the list. Payment records are retained as required for tax and accounting purposes. Cloudflare server logs are subject to Cloudflare’s privacy policy and retention practices.

Your rights

You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of any personal data we hold about you by contacting us. We will respond to requests within 30 days. Note that deletion of payment records may be limited by legal and accounting obligations.

Children

This site is not directed at individuals under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from minors.

Changes

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be noted on this page with an updated effective date.
